Hermit crabs are interesting creatures. They use discarded shells from mollusks or other debris as homes and protection. They're more related to lobsters than to true crabs. Some varieties can be kept as pets.
Some hermit crabs live on land and others live in the water, but all have gills and need access to water to breathe.
