The earth’s polar biomes are covered with ice most of the year. The Arctic and Antarctic are part of the polar biome. They are considered marine biomes since the land is covered by a sheet of ice.
Biomes include geographic location, landforms and water. Weather affects the animal and plant life in a biome. Plant and animal life can be found not only in water but the soil.
The polar biomes are on opposite ends of the earth. The tilt of the axis of the earth affects the amount of sunlight they get during the year. Each have 3 months of darkness and 3 months of sunlight.
