Fish are one of the most visible creatures in the ocean. We've created some nomenclature cards about fish.
All fish have bones. They live in both fresh water and salt water. Most lay eggs and swim. Some fish can crawl or "walk" in muddy or swampy areas.
Fish live in all five oceans. Some fish that live in the arctic and antarctic have special chemicals that act like anti-freeze, allowing them to live in ice cold water.
Some fish live deep in the ocean, some near hydrothermal vents. A hydrothermal vent is a place where magma reaches through the earth's crust and creates something similar to an oceanic hot spring.
